HOW TO THRIVE
Last Saturday we had our first of 7 POLYFACE GATHERINGS hosting HOLISTIC HILDA. By all counts, it was a smashing success. One of the speakers, Dr. Devin Vrana, who is both a chiropractor and an acupuncturist, had a wonderful 7-point recipe for thriving in unsettled times. I took notes.
1. Anchor: what do you anchor to? You need to know where you come from and where you're going. Whenever things trigger you, or get under your skin, this is what makes you respond appropriately.
2. Play: adults need to rediscover how to play. She had us all jump up and down and act like kangaroos. Don't take yourself so seriously; find children and play with them. As she spoke, we could hear children playing in the corn box nearby.
3. Shine: get bad stuff out and good stuff in. You can't fix everything today. Does this bring me life or take away life? What is siphoning my energy? What gives me energy?
4. Love: forgive all the people it's hard to forgive. The two activators are forgiveness and gratitude. Trade your expectations for appreciation. Anger won't fix anything. This is hard; broken bones take time to heal. Quit dwelling on the negative and don't let yourself feed on the negative--turn off the news.
5. Voice: be impeccable with your word. Root your voice in your anchor. Speak light into other people. Your voice is a vessel of energy; speak up when it's hard; don't stay silent when your story has power. Tell people what you're learning.
6. Intuition: this is in the meditation space. Remember that all the mess will be beautiful one day. If you're angry, ask why? Change the way you see things. Get curious and everything else follows.
7. Trust: do you trust God? How much? Trust enough to go wherever the divine takes you. Realize I'm just a speck of dust in a magnificent humongous universe. Lift your hands heavenward to get perspective.
I thought that was a pretty good list and hope it's helpful for you. The next gathering is June 18-19 with Dr. Sina McCullough that we're dubbing "Two Days of Truth." Peak Prosperity with Chris Martenson is the next weekend and then the Rogue Food Conference in August, Stockman Grass Farmer reunion in September, Weston A. Price Foundation in October and the capstone Harvest Celebration November 6: a day of entertainment and celebration with world class costumed historical interpreter Richard Cheatham and singer-songwriter legend Rory Feek.
