EXCITING TRENDS FOR 2022

Amidst all the craziness of 2021, here are some things to be joyful and grateful about.

             1.  Divisiveness leads to clarity.  We're finding each other and moving into relational communities of tribes.

             2.  Relationships deepen through adversity, so hard times create deeper friendships, which create stronger and more stable communities.

             3.  Big is finally becoming inefficient.  From covid protocols to fear of litigation, big outfits are experiencing unprecedented inefficiencies while little outfits are like speed boats navigating rocky shoals.   Small and nimble defeat big and bureaucratic.

             4.  One result of Number 3 is authentic food prices have risen 2 percent while conventional food prices have risen 15 percent.  The prices are coming into equilibrium, creating unprecedented opportunities for integrity food and more problems for fraud food.

             5.  Parents saw what their children were being taught in government schools, creating the "Mama Bear" club and exposing the teachers' unions' real objectives.

             6.  Millions of people now mistrust the government and the orthodox narrative.  Welcome to the enlightened side.

             7.  Charter schools are on the ascendency.

             8.  People started 1 million backyard flocks of chickens.

             9.  A tsunami of urban flight is repopulating the countryside with can-do people.  When a nation gets jittery, people head for the hills. 

             10.  This urban flight is bringing lots of new wealth and economic opportunities to the countryside.

             11.  Ascendancy of everything self-reliant, do-it-yourself, and homesteading.

             12.  Home gardens, canning and homecentric culinary arts are on the rise.

 `            13.  Number one Googled instruction in 2020:  how to make sourdough bread.

             14.  People losing their jobs are becoming entrepreneurs, starting new small businesses, and refusing to be kicked around.

 `            15.  Organic, local, and artisanal food purchases are up.

             16.  People are patronizing local points of interest; international recreational travel is down.

             17.  People are asking how to build immunity, encouraging interest in health, wellness, and spiritual rejuvenation.

             18.  People are gathering on farms instead of conference centers.
