ALTERNATIVE THEORIES
I've purposely stayed away from coronavirus for more than a week, but things eventually accumulate so today I'm thinking about alternatives.
The news is a-flutter about an alleged spike in states that are re-opening. They are primarily in the south. Could it be that the increased cases have everything to do with summer heat and staying inside in air conditioning rather than going to the barber and massage therapist? Just wondering.
Talked to a fellow yesterday whose wife works at the hospital. She has decided nothing makes sense and doesn't believe any experts about anything. She's seen so many anomalies that the whole narrative is untrustworthy.
The tainted tests from yesterday's news cycle and yet another dire prediction gone exponentially awry. Remember Fauci's prediction about 2 million? And then remember how the experts said the complete disregard for any protective procedures during the riots would pile up body bags in cul-de-sacs?
What if it was actually healthier for these folks to get out and scream and walk down main street and throw bricks? Perhaps they are actually healthier as a result of getting outside, exercising, and blowing off steam.
The point of all this is nobody is doing side-by-side studies so we can never know about alternative explanations for things. This is the frustrating element of this pandemic. I can't remember any event that discredited public officials or broke down trust as profoundly as this.
What if one airline would say: "we're not requiring anything. We've got great scrubbers in our air systems and we're going to let people make individual choices as to what protective measures to take." Trust me, if that were done, in short order you'd be able to see if such a plan spiked cases for passengers using that service.
Perhaps the people most prone to getting it are the ones who fixate on it. Perhaps the every-breath reminder and irritation of wearing a face mask and fumbling around with it (nobody exercises proper medical protocol) diminishes the immune system far more than just going about your business.
Is anybody conducting a study comparing sitting in your house watching the news versus sitting in your house watching Laurel and Hardy, or the 3 Stooges, or Red Skelton? Is anybody researching what half an hour of belly laugh a day would do compared to living in a soup of chemical sanitizer?
Thinking, sensible people understand the validity of alternatives narratives. Seldom is just one thing the cause or the answer. Certainly it's good to know what one thing to do. So if we're only going to do one thing, what has the greatest benefit? Going along with life in faith or fixating on fear? Immersing in sanitizers or belly laughing half an hour each day? Getting outside or vegging in air conditioning? Eating pastured meat or getting a vaccine?
Can you think of other alternatives for the orthodox narrative?
