POLYFACE DESIGNS 18

Today's teaser for the new book POLYFACE DESIGNS features the Harepen, a portable rabbit grazing structure.  Like all the designs in this beautiful 4-color compendium, this developed through many years of trial, error, and refinement.

Fortunately, former apprentice Chris Slattery was here late enough in our development cycle to see our infrastructure in a fairly mature state.  He has captured these in a step-by-step build-out manual that is pretty enough for a coffee table book.

I did the text and he did the heavy lifting.  The project was his idea and he's a master.  His talents, meshed with my story-telling, offer the perfect example of symbiosis through diversity.

We're very close now to getting the book in hand.  The original date was a couple days from now, but last week the printer informed us they've had some back-ups in the shop and we won't get it until Oct. 8 or 9.

Somehow we must all pursue patience in an impatient world.  I've never done a pre-order before because my greatest fear is that the project hits a glitch and I can't deliver.  I've never offered books (this is my 14th) for sale until I have them in hand; that just seems safe.

But this one is so expensive to print that we wanted our income to cross with our outgo--the proverbial "checks crossing in the mail."   After this experience, we may never offer preorder again, but we thank you for bearing with the process, for the eagerness we feel out there for this information.  I guarantee it will be a treasure that you'll refer to over and over because it contains a lot of information that's generic for constructing anything.

Hang in there.  It's around the corner.  Thank you.
